Obituary

Jennifer Lynn (Thurber) Plaski passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Sunday, March 9th, 2025 at the age of 44. She was born on February 15, 1981 to Dianne Thurber Peterson and Michael Whitens at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Jennifer grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin and graduated from Appleton West High School. She then moved to Amery, Wisconsin where she and Ryan Plaski raised their family. Her kids Javin, Malone, and Greyson were her life's greatest blessings. She had a robust and beautiful personality and a heart of gold. Jen loved the water and sunshine. She frequently visited Huckleberry Acres with her family and later in life with friends. Jennifer could walk into a room not knowing anyone and walk away with a lifelong friend. She had many friends of all ages whom she loved dearly. Jen loved all things antique and decorated inside and out.

Jennifer is survived by her children Javin, Malone, and Greyson; her mother and stepfather, Dianne and Gordy Peterson; brothers, Ernie Butler (Michele) and Michael Whitens (Jacquelyn); sisters; Tracy McCarthy (Sonny) and Alyssa Bednarowski (Nick); nieces, nephews, many cousins, and a great deal of aunts and uncles.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Michael Whitens; her brother, Johnny; Grandma Thurber, Grandpa Fritz, and Grandma Jovi; uncles Donny, Tom, Jim (Alyce), and John Thurber, and George Ciuplinski; aunts Carol Alderton (Hurley), Betty Stanton, Carol Thurber, and Lana Pawlowski; cousins Wendy, Josh, Jamie, Brandon, and Nathan Thurber.

There will be a scattering of ashes, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date which will be published on the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

Jen, you hold a special place in each one of our hearts. We will keep your memories alive always. Your gracefulness (or lack thereof) leaves us with MANY laughs we could never forget. Keep shining!

Jennifer… You will be in my heart forever. I love you and I will miss you dearly, baby girl. Now your mind can be at peace. – Love, Mom
