Jeremy Martinson's Funeral Service Video
Jeremy Martinson age 44 of New London, WI, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 due to complications from a 9-month battle with brain cancer. Jeremy was born on June 4, 1980, in Beaver Dam, WI. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1999, where he was active in the school orchestra and lettered in tennis. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Ripon College in 2003, where he earned membership into Phi Beta Kappa. Jeremy met his future wife Julia, while working at the International Crane Foundation and they were married there on September 8, 2007. His employment and volunteer work included the Fort Worth Zoo, PetSmart, Schiltz Audubon Center, and the Aldo Leopold Nature Center. Jeremy's love of animals was evident in his most recent work at the Heritage Animal Hospital in Greenville and Hortonville and in the many beloved pets the couple welcomed into their home. He was an avid sports fan, collecting sports cards and following the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, and Wisconsin teams including the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, Herd, and Timber Rattlers. He loved birding and exploring nature, watching WWE, and attending rock concerts and collecting vinyl and CDs.
In all things, Jeremy approached his life with empathy and grace. Even in his most difficult battles, he was genuinely appreciative of his medical team and the many friends and families who volunteered to take him to his appointments. His spirit of appreciation and gratitude inspired him to name November as "National Julia Martinson Month" for her tireless support.
Jeremy is survived by his loving wife Julia; mother Jane; brother Jim (Cathy) Sharpe and sister Julie (Allen) Hill; aunts Kathleen Ziemer, Jennifer Ziemer, Rose (Al) Jaecks, and Carol (Rob) Albrecht and uncles Paul Ziemer (special friend Melinda), and Jerry (Mary) Martinson; cousins Joe (Liz) Ziemer, Tom (Hannah) Ziemer, David (Jenny) Martinson, Jamie (Dan) Carmichael, Kari (Scott) Brezinski, Chris (Kristin) Jaecks, Jenni (Mike) Villeneuve, and Ryan (Leah) Jaecks, Alyssa Albrecht, and Cassie Albrecht; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and other extended family.
Jeremy is preceded in death by his father John, paternal and maternal grandparents.
