Obituary

Jerome Kettner's Funeral Mass Video Jerome Frances Kettner, age 86 of Shiocton, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Appleton following a two-month illness.  Jerome was born on December 6, 1935, in Appleton to the late Andrew and Rose (Deimer) Kettner.  Jerome graduated from Shiocton High School in 1954.  He was united in marriage to Mone' Laurana Gauthier on May 3, 1958.  She preceded him in death in 1961.  Jerome was drafted into the US Army and served at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He then married Esther Schueler on April 20, 1963, in Greenville. He lived and farmed in the Shiocton area his entire life.  Jerome was a longtime, active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Stephensville.  He was a member of the Ellington Town Board for many years and also a member and past president of the Shiocton School Board.  He loved snowmobiling and belonged to the Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club.  Jerome was a huge John Deere enthusiast and a member of the Two-Cylinder Club.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Esther; children, Kris (Maxine) Kettner, Charles (Coleen) Kettner, Theresa Kettner and Randy Kettner; son-in-law, Paul Weyers; grandchildren, Ashley (Kenny) Coe, Adam (Alicia) Kettner and Abagail (Travis) Parker; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Henry, Harper, Harlo, Miles and Charli; siblings, Maynard (Rose) Kettner and Kathleen (Leon) Griesbach and in-laws, Gordon (Mary) Jahnke, Emery (Ruth) Rynders, Ted (Joan) Bayer and Bob (Janice) Zeman.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mone'; daughter, Lori Weyers and his brother, Robert.

The funeral mass for Jerome will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Stephensville with Fr. Michael Thiel officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Full military honors will be held.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
