Joan M. Biese (Jungwirth), age 57, passed early morning on April 7, 2026 at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah, Wisconsin, following a tragic car accident in Fond Du Lac County.

Joan was born on November 23, 1968 in Appleton, WI to Larry and Nancy Jungwirth (Paul). She grew up in Medina and graduated from New London High School. She married Paul Biese in 1994. Joan loved being a mother to Megan, Logan, and Nathan. She taught 1st and 2nd grades in Rock Ledge Elementary in Seymour, WI for most of her teaching career, always going above and beyond to better herself and bring out the best in all those she worked with and taught. Following her divorce, she moved to Kewaskum and worked at Hartford Schools, Campbellsport School, and Sugar Maple Nature School. Joan was happily engaged to Jim Brock in Kewaskum. They enjoyed music, kayaking, boating and loving on their grandkids and pets. She volunteered with anything she could in her communities wherever she went.

Joan was known for doing many things; gardening, knitting, volunteering, cooking, and teaching, but the thing that is likely her greatest accomplishment is her prolific and ever expanding range and depth of love towards everyone she encountered. She touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Strangers, acquaintances, students, coworkers, friends and family felt a warmth and caring nature from Joan within minutes of interaction. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.

Joan loved her fiancé, James "Jim" Brock, her children, Megan (Phillip) Feehan, Logan Biese, and Nathan Biese; her parents, Lawrence "Larry" (Sandra) Jungwirth and Nancy Jungwirth; her grandchildren, Alli, Emma, Amaryllis and Elias Feehan; and her two sisters, Patti (Lather) Thompson and Sandy (Shalaco) Jungwirth. Joan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond "Ray" and Fern Paul, and John and Olga Jungwirth, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will live on in all of us forever.

The Memorial Service for Joan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, in New London, Wisconsin, with Rev. Mark Tiefel officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 and also on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Joan will be buried in New Maple Creek Cemetery with her family.
