Joan Dockter's Funeral Mass Video

On Saturday, January 7, 2023 our loving mother, Joan Dockter, passed on to join with her husband of 30 years, Clifford Dockter; her parents, Bernard and Floy (Schwartz) Olk; her siblings and numerous other family and friends. All throughout her life, Joan was a caring person, constantly trying to help people however she could. This could be seen through her involvement at her church, SS Peter & Paul; treasurer of Outagamie Arc (now Fox Cities SOAR) and helping making napoleons for the Xavier Food Fair French booth. She would often tell stories of her younger years, of times bowling for Jim Foley's Tap, swimming at Dyne's with her good friend JoAnn Schwartz, skating on Black Otter with her sister from another mother, Carolyn Wielock or traveling the US with her mother and later to conventions with Cliff. But one of her greatest enjoyments, was doing things for her beloved Village of Hortonville. Joan not only was on the Village Board as a Trustee two different times, but also had a long career as the Village Clerk Treasurer. In an effort to share with others the pride she had for her community, Joan was one of the founding members of the Hortonville Historical Society and worked tirelessly on the Hortonville Veterans Memorial Committee to recognize those who serve.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth and special son, Stephen, along with many, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that she cherished deeply.

As mom's illness progressed, we would like to thank particularly Dr. Bryan Avery, Dr. Ramana Marada and Elena Fry Hansen APNP at St. Elizabeth's Pulmonology Department for their wonderful and compassionate care over the years; Lydia and Cindy, the nurses on 2 nd floor St. Elizabeth, who were a comfort to mom and us in her last hours; and the Hortonville First Responders, Hortonville PD and Gold Cross EMT's, for their care every time mom needed help.

The Funeral Mass for Joan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Fr. Phil Schoof officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mom, the last couple years, however trying they were at times, were some of the most loving and beautiful moments of my life.
