Joan Bessette's Funeral Mass Video Joan E. (nee Fulcer) Bessette, age 89, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022.  She was born on February 3, 1933, in New London daughter of the late Murl and Marie (Wagner) Fulcer. Joan grew up in Hortonville and graduated with the Hortonville Class of 1951.  Following high school, she was united in marriage to Carl J. Bessette on May 14, 1952, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville and they went on to raise 6 children. Carl preceded her in death on September 17, 2020.  After her children were grown, Joan entered the workforce, taking a job at the Toy Factory in Hortonville. She enjoyed camping at Pine Lake and Eau Claire Dells and even in her own backyard.  She loved sleeping outdoors!  Joan lived a simple life- enjoying knitting, puzzles, flower gardening and word searches.  She loved her family immensely, as well as her pets.

Joan is survived by her children: Roy Bessette, Mark Bessette (special friend, Louise), Jody (Cherie) Bessette, and John (Jody) Bessette; sons-in-law, Tom Ulman and Rick LeMere; grandchildren, Anna, Michelle, Jennifer, Julie, Jonathan, James, Vanessa, Sarah, Daniel, Heather and Tara; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Maggie, Tori, Jasper, Truman, Timothy, Desire`, Kyle, Alexis, Bryton, Rayland, Harrison, Everett, Madison, Payton and Chase and her brother, Lloyd Fulcer. She is further survived by nephews, nieces, brother and sisters-in-law, friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; daughters, Carol Ulman and Barbara LeMere; daughter-in-law, Caroline Bessette; brothers, Jack, Lee and Richard and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Catherine.

The Funeral Mass for Joan will be at 11:00 a.m. on April 13, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek with Fr. Tim Shillcox officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
