Joan L. Polley (nee Gorges) was born on July 2, 1932, and entered Eternal life with her Savior on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, after many years of health issues. Joan was a lifelong faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she attended Sunday school and grade school.  She was a 1950 graduate of New London High School. On November 10, 1952, she married the love of her life, Dick Polley. Together they raised five children and built a home.

Joan enjoyed wintering in Florida where she and Dick made many friends. She was also an avid sports fan; Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Bulldogs, and golf, along with much more.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Susan (Steve) Carlovsky and Jane Polley; her sons, Robert (Lori) Polley and William (Tammy) Polley; daughter-in-law, Carol Polley;  grandchildren, Kristen, Courtney and Karyn Carlovsky, Michael (Christie) Polley, Amy Keesler, Abby Weix, Zachariah (Jordan) and Madison Polley; step-grandchildren, Christian (Sarah) Siekert and Michaella Siekert; great grandchildren, Brittain, Miranda, Alli, Neriah, Addison, Coleman, Jack, Reiker, Bradford and Will; brother-in-law, James (Linda) Polley; sister-in-law, Rose Ann Polley. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents, Arthur and Leona (nee Seefeld) Gorges; her son, Thomas Polley; her brothers, Melvin Gorges and Clifford Gorges; her sister, Arleen Johnson; brothers-in-law, Dan Polley, Jim Borman, Harland Steffen, Joseph Marzolf and Orville Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jill Borman, Pauline Steffen, Dorothy Marzolf, Mary Gorges and June Gorges; her niece, Judy and nephew, Ken.

Joan's family would like to thank the staffs of Trinity Terrace and Compassus Hospice, especially Tracy and DJ, along with her good friends, Jan and Pam.

The Funeral Service for Joan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, Wisconsin, with Pastor William Heiges as celebrant. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
