Joanie Aldinger's Memorial Mass Video

Joanie Marie Aldinger (Grandma Dinger), 76, of Hortonville, WI went to her resting place with the Lord surrounded by family on December 5, 2023.

Joanie was born to the late Elmer and Dorothy Beschta on April 23rd, 1947 where she was  raised on the family farm in Hortonville, WI. She was the middle daughter and survived by her two loving sisters Beverly Heenan of Greenville WI and Jean (Ron) McHugh, Keshena WI

Joanie's sense of humor, compassion, thoughtfulness, titch of sarcasm and appreciation for a great hug are just a few qualities that she passed down to her three surviving children, Terri (David) Mulzer of Neenah, WI, Mary Jo Theimer of Daggett, MI and Jamie (Tammy Wyrobeck) Besaw of Shawano, WI.

In 1985 Joanie met and later in 1990 married Bill Aldinger who immediately took on the role of stepdad to her three children.  The two of them shared in their love of treasure hunting and took many Sunday road trips to the Shawano and Princeton flea markets.  It was difficult for Joanie to pass a rummage sale sign and it was never tough to talk Bill into stopping at one more.  The two of them enjoyed working to keep their yard and her flower beds looking beautiful. Joanie and Bill enjoyed their time vacationing in Mexico with friends.  Bill cared for Joanie as her health declined over the years.  This was a testament of the depth of their love.  Bill exemplified true partnership embodying the vows of "in sickness and in health".  His acts of love and kindness will forever be remembered as a source of comfort for her three children.  She so often expressed her appreciation for his selfless devotion even when she bossed him around and told him how to drive.  The two of them shared many laughs during their years together.

Grandma Dinger was so proud of every one of her grandchildren, Blaise (Stephanie Ashauer) Theimer, Kara (Dominick Cerasoli) Heid, Peyton (Spencer) Erickson, Nathan (Rachel Van Abel) Mulzer, Tabitha (Kaleb) Blazer, Jace (Briana Asendorf) Mulzer, and Trinity Besaw.  Her family quickly grew and since 2020 and she became "Gigi" (great grandma) to Paislea, Myah, Hazel, Kade and Stetson who loved to snuggle with as they wiggled on her lap.

Joanie graduated Hortonville High School in 1965.  Later in life she put her passion for people and her quick wit into play when she bartended at the Fin and Feather in Winneconne, WI for many years where she made so many lifelong friends.  She later had a successful sales career in advertising before her retirement.

Joanie loved the Lord first and rarely missed a Sunday morning live steam mass service when she could no longer attend in person.  As a matter of fact, she usually watched two masses as she often admitted she fell asleep during the 5 am mass.  She was a longtime member of St. Peter and Paul in Hortonville, WI where she was passionately part of the Care Ministry Team allowing her to share her warm hugs, listening ears and humor with the people she went to visit. She also worked with the ladies in the kitchen for many St. Peter and Paul funerals.

When she wasn't taking turns face timing or talking with one of the kids on the phone every day, she enjoyed gardening and feeding her birds.  She created a beautiful space where she could sit with her morning coffee and watch the hummingbirds and finches eat (and those "damn squirrels").   Fond memories were created through shared laughter and some name calling while shaking dice or playing cribbage. She looked forward to her Tuesday Sheepshead game and delicious deserts with the ladies.   Joanie loved taking road trips through the UP with her daughters and son (once he was finally invited to girl's weekend).   Joanie adopted her children's friends as her own friends and became mama to so many who will miss her presence and smile.

Joanie is preceded in death by her parents, a brother in law Chuck Heenan, niece Sherry Schroeder, Great nephew Bradley Heenan, Brother in law Paul Aldinger Brother in law Steve Aldinger.

A Memorial Mass for Joanie will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Fr. Phil Schoofs officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.

Fly high on angels wings Mama.  We weren't ready to let you go. We are so blessed that we were able to share in this very precious moment in your life, holding your hand on your journey to your eternal home.  Our lives are going to be so different without you and we already miss calling you everyday.  In our hearts forever, your three favorite children!

Joanie, you were one of a kind and you completed my world.  I love you and miss you so much! - Your loving Husband Bill
