Johanna Gladys Hart, age 86, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Residence in New London on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.  Johanna was born to Alice (Muskevitsch) Zerrenner on April 10, 1937 and grew up on "The Farm" outside of New London, where she enjoyed deer hunting.  Joann, as she was known to many, graduated in 1955 from New London High School.  She was active in 4-H, choir, art, and played the accordion.  After graduation, Joann attended a comptometer school in Green Bay and moved to Milwaukee to work. Later she returned to New London to raise eight children.  Joann was an active parent and supported her childrens' interests with her many talents.  In addition to working at several retail stores, she made time to serve as a Brownie leader, worked as the craft lady "Mumsy" at summer Girl Scout Camp, helped with Boy Scouts, and sewed costumes and made props for plays and musicals.  Joann was involved in Wolf River Art League and Red Hatters Society. She enjoyed sharing her crafting talents through the quilts she made for her grandchildren, the flower arrangements for weddings, and taught crafts at the Senior Center.  Joann volunteered at Parkview Elementary School, where she designed bulletin boards and tutored students in math, reading, and cursive writing.

Joann is survived by her eight children, Steve Hart, Susan (Brian) Brockman, Karen Lehman, Karlene (Jim) Caston, Jill (Scott) Arent, Jane (Tim) Stingle, Amy Hart, and Alan (Jenny) Hart.  She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; Molly, James (Jamie), Ken Jr., Sam, Jorden, Breena, Jake, Danielle, Nic, Samantha, Sierra, Megan (Andy), Ali, Emily, Brayden and Evan and 13 great-grandchildren, Bella, Everly, Esmeralda, Scarlett, Georgia, Ruby, Benjamin, Hayleigh, Emerson, Devon, Halle, Cole and Myla.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents; special aunts and uncles at "The Farm" and her granddaughter, Heidi Ritchie.

The funeral service for Joann will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Residence and ProMedica Hospice for the exceptional care they provided during Joann's final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the New London Public Library.
