John W (Jack) Cannivet, age 94 passed away in New London on November 5, 2023. He was born to the late John and Marie (Locher) Cannivet on November 24, 1928, in Chicago, IL. He married Yvonne (Bonnie) Berzil, on November 4, 1950, at St Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Jack grew up in Chicago but spent the summers at the family resort on Waubee Lake in WI. He served in the U.S. Army, Korean War from 1951-1953. He worked at Verifine Dairy for 34 years as a ice cream truck driver and later on as a Salesmen, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed playing cards with the guys at the cabin, coffee at the round table at the Pantry and in his younger years golfing, going to the cottage in Gresham and wintering in Florida. He was an avid Chicago Bear and Cub fan.
Jack is survived by daughters, Debbie (George) Thomas, New London; Kim(Marlin) Butt, Minocqua; grandchildren; Tom Faucher, Jr. (special friend Adela Johannes), Slinger; John (Ann) Faucher, New London; Kyle (Tricia) Butt, Libertyville, IL; Kevin (Heather) Butt, Gunnison, CO; Scott Thomas, Hartford; great grandchildren: Haile, Zack and Lily Faucher; Kaden and Carter Butt, Matt and Sarah Brown. Sisters and brothers- in-law, Cheryl (Jim) Hoffman, Peggy (Bill) Muskevitsch. He is further survived by Mike (Cathy) Cannivet, Naples FL and many nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, brother and sister in law, Bill (Doris) Cannivet, sisters and brother in laws, Alice Mae (Jerome) Walters, Joyce (Pete) Yeager and special friends Bob and Jen Frank.
Funeral services for Jack will be held on Thursday, November 9 2023, at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church, New London with Father John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be held after the service at the Church. A private burial will be in the Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery, New London.
Debbie and Kim would like to thank the staff at Monarch Meadows and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful love, comfort and care they gave dad during his 3 last years.
