John Swartwout's Funeral Service Video

John Thomas Swartwout, age 84 of New London passed away on February 13, 2024 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. John was born on December 12, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Eileen (Dunne) Swartwout.  He was united in marriage to Diane Loos in Waupaca on April 28, 1990.  John worked at Bensons for over 20 years and then at Sturm Foods in Manawa, and then retired from Mil-Tech.  He was an avid reader and loved hunting and fishing.  John was proud of the house he built in 1995.  John and Diane enjoyed going on road trips and loved traveling extensively across the United States. He served his country in the US Army from 1963-1965.

John is survived by his wife, Diane; daughters, Kathy (Jim) Hanegraaf and Annette (Ray) Klick; sons, Rick (Hope) Swartwout, John (Birgit) Swartwout and Alan Swartwout; grandchildren, Christopher (Laura) Hanegraaf, Joseph Hanegraaf, Stephanie Rice, Alex (Dawn) Klick, Niki (Aaron) Schoenecker, Jeni Swartwout, Brett (special friend, Jessica) Swartwout, Hunter Swartwout, Johnathon (Sage) Swartwout and Sam Swartwout and great-grandchildren, Blake, Olivia, Harrison, Emilia, Sebastion, Charley, Brecklyn and Freya.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Bill; sister, Faye Svetlik; great- granddaughter, Elizabeth and father-in-law, Bill Loos.

The Funeral Service for John will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London.  The visitation will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
