Joseph E. Phalen Sr. age 57 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly at ThedaCare New London on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.  Joe was born on April 4, 1968 in Milwaukee to the late Richard and Cynthia (Pallen) Phalen.  He worked as an over the road truck driver.  Joe loved his cat George, fishing, boating and remote control cars and trucks.  He loved working on cars with his son.  Above all, Joe liked spending time with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his significant other, Sharon Hoskins (Herning); children, Joseph Phalen Jr., Khirsten Phalen (significant other, Alexander), Ashley Phalen Hatfield and Tori Smith (significant other, Joseph Campbell); grandchildren, Zeke Phalen, Zoey Phalen, Joshua Wendt, Dameon Lampinen, Kinley Fuhrmann, Gracelynn Hatfield, Madelynn Naja, Ezekeal Naja, Aniyah Campbell, Zayden Campbell and Jaelyn Campbell and siblings, Gregory Hintz and Teri (Andrew) Miesenburg-Wodkowski.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Patrick and Lillian Phalen and maternal grandparents, Earl and Eugenia Pallen.

A Celebration of Joe's life will be held at a later date, which will be published on the funeral home website.
