Karen Haen's Memorial Service Video
Karen Kay Haen, age 75 of Shiocton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 4, 2022 at ThedaCare Appleton. Karen was born on December 10, 1946 in New London to the late Verryl and Ardys (Krueger) Bunnell. She was the third of 8 children. Karen grew up in Shiocton and attended Shiocton and Seymour schools, graduating with the class of 1965. She was united in marriage to George Haen on July 1, 1967 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. Karen and George lived in several places throughout their lives, starting out in Brillion- then Green Bay and then International Falls, MN. Karen worked in the fishing tackle factory tying hooks. Along the way, she raised four children, kept a home and worked several places outside the home. Karen's family had many adventures - a few were sworn to secrecy, so Karen wouldn't find out. Her patience was often tested, but it was always fun. Karen and George taught their children how to love and stick together. Karen loved hard and completely. She considered herself rich- not by worldly possessions, but by the love her family shares.
Karen is survived by her husband, George Haen Jr.; son, George Haen III and his children, Sydney Rose Haen and George Cole Haen IV; daughter, Heather (Lisa) Haen and their children, Parker and Hailey; daughter, Melinda (Jeremy) Boelter and their children, Daniel (Beth) Affeldt, Kassandra (Ian) Zgonc, Kaylynne Boelter (Jake Jacobson) and daughter, Angela (Eric) Witt and their children, Sabrina (DeShawn Thompson) Witt and Harley (Hannah Kropp) Witt; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Felix, Dexter, Stella, Bennett and Cora; siblings, Eugene Bunnell, Patricia Nabbefeldt, Susan Drephal, Richard (Paula) Bunnell and Brad (Brenda) Bunnell; brother-in-law, David Kelly and in-laws, Elizabeth Pinkert, Rose Marie Hibbert and Vernon Christopherson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Bunnell; sister, Barbara Kelly; sister-in-law, Betty Bunnell; brothers-in-law, Vern Nabbefeldt and Nathan Drephal; father and mother-in-law, George and Marcella Haen; in-laws, Mary Agnes and Frank Scheuer, Dorothy Christopherson, John Pinkert, Robert Hibbard and Dale (Evelyn) Christopher, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
