Kenneth “Kenny” Ziemer, born June 12, 1937, in Maple Creek, Wisconsin, went to sleep on May 12, 2026, and woke up in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by the love of his family, close friends, and the life he built so proudly.

Born and raised on the family farm in Maple Creek, Ken remained deeply rooted to the land throughout his life. He built his home, raised his family, and continued farming on the homestead while dedicating his professional career to construction.

Ken served six years as an Army Reservist out of Appleton, Wisconsin. He spent 20 years with Hutter Construction before completing his final 23 years with Miron Construction as a superintendent. Among his proudest accomplishments was supervising two renovations of Lambeau Field — a role he carried with great pride as a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.

On May 19, 1962, Ken married the love of his life, Mary Lou Konrad, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Together, they shared nearly 64 years of marriage filled with family, laughter, travel, and countless rides on his Harley.

Ken was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed deer hunting, snowmobiling, camping, golfing, music festivals, traveling, and reading — especially history books. He never missed watching The Weather Channel and enjoyed country music, Culver’s chocolate shakes, and cookies. Known for his practical jokes, Ken had a gift for making people laugh and could take a joke as well as he gave one.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou; his daughter, Lynn (Gary) Goodman; and his cherished grandchildren, Alicia (John) Bailey, Stephanie (Cam) Melzer, and Nicole (Jake) Hoople; brothers-in-law Leo Konrad, Red (Dorothy) Konrad, and Pete (Pam) Konrad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Adeline Ziemer; his three sons, Kent, Kurt, and Chad; his mother and father-in-law, Louis and Tillie Konrad; and his sister-in-law, Karen Konrad.

Ken will be remembered as a hardworking man whose hands helped build both structures and family traditions, a loyal friend, and someone who found joy in simple moments spent with the people he loved most.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cline & Hansen Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m., with the service immediately following at Most Precious Blood Church. Burial will take place at Maple Creek New Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established, with proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. For Parkinson’s research.
