Kevin Beattie's Funeral Service Video Kevin John Beattie, age 60 of Hortonville, formerly of New London, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Kevin was born on July 7, 1961, the son of Lee Beattie and the late Anita Pennings. Kevin worked at Sturms before an injury placed him on disability. He was well known to party hard no matter what the cost or consequences. Kevin loved his place on the river and had many good times there with Val and friends. He was in a long term relationship with his life partner, Val. They had many good times, laughs with friends, pontoon rides, crazy parties involving a cannon on St. Patrick's Day and many road trips with friends. Kevin was a part of everyone's life, everybody has a story.
Kevin is survived by his father, Lee; siblings, Mike (Chris) Young, Kim (Ed) Gable, Gary Akerland, Julie (Corey) Berg, Becky (John) Young, Jan (Arlie) Gensler, Joe (Debbie) Young, Jackie Leakfield, Duane Young and Jason Beattie and his son, Joshua.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Anita; step-mother, Carol; sister, Judy Akerland and grandparents, Marvin and Bessie Beattie and Author and Bernice Pennings.
Just a special note: To Val, for loving him and taking care of him all those years. He still talked about what a good cook you were and that you always made enough to feed an army! I believed his love for you continued on with him, even though it did not feel like it. I could see it in his heart. To Kathy and Ronny Krake for stopping in and checking on him. Always bringing him food, which he wouldn't eat! The love and kindness you showed him. And lastly I would like to thank his neighbors, Jim. LuAnn and Gracie for watching out for him. You plowed his driveway in the winter, made cookies for Christmas and brought him cards. I can't even begin to tell you how much that meant to him. Thanks you so much! His neighbor Billy Cole- thank you for your visits and chats theta you had with him, especially if you could sit for awhile. He loved it and was always worried about your health. I want his neighbors to know how much he appreciated all that you did for him. Kevin had a hard time dealing with break ups and the death of people he knew. He lost most of the people in the past few years and he just kept withdrawing himself. I pray that my brother has finally found peace and rest for his troubled soul. I love him more than he will ever know and he will be truly missed by all.
Thank you to the great team at ThedaCare in Appleton ICU unit. You all made sure Kevin was getting the best care possible. Jordan, you were born to be an ICU nurse. Richie, thank you for your honesty about what is hope and reality, you belong doing what you do. It helped me prepare for the hard decisions. Pastor Dave, who came with little notice and prayed for Kevin, the team taking care of him ICU and my family during these difficult times. We are truly blessed with support from our whole family.
