Kevin's Funeral Service Video

Our family is heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Kevin Genske, just 47 years old, of Greenville, Wisconsin, on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1978 in New London, to Dan Genske and Karen Harrington.

Kevin will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. One thing that always stood strong is his unwavering love for his wife and their two sons Spencer and Hunter. They were his greatest joy. Kevin was never a loud man – he loved quiet and steady, truly believing he was put on this earth to love Melissa. He was a fierce protector and the heart of the home, inspiring all who knew him. His love will forever be a part of us, guiding us.

Kevin was always a hard independent worker. Even in his youth he could be found bailing hay on many farms and even traveling across the country to help his family. Once he was able to drive, he was often on the go, traveling to work, and helping his family and friends. When he was 17 years old, he worked at TJ Maxx and met the love of his life and then marrying her. Kevin and Melissa Stelow were wed on May 3, 2003. Eventually, Kevin found a career with WE Energies, working there for over 25 years. He grew at the company from a meter reader all the way to Operations Supervisor, guiding a team who he cared deeply for.

In his free time, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, cooking, family vacations, playing cribbage and board games. Oftentimes on a calm summer night, Kevin could be found by a campfire or on the back patio, enjoying a nice bourbon and a big cigar while listening to music, especially Eric Church.

Kevin leaves behind his loving wife, Melissa; their sons, Spencer and Hunter; and his loyal dog, Ruby. He also leaves behind his parents, Karen and Dan (Eileen); his brother, Chris; his grandmother, Florence; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gale Harrington, Kenneth Genske, Geraldine Genske, Great Aunt Delores Atkenson, and Uncle Curtis Harrington.

The Funeral Service for Kevin will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Shepherd of the Hills in Greenville, Wisconsin, with Pastor Steve Kline officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In a sea of infinite stars, you've always been the anchor to my sky – an unwavering light that holds hope when the night is unveiled. A strength that carries me when I fall and a blanket of warmth when all is lost – you are my constant in a universe of unknowns. With your unspoken presence, my fears fade in the night, knowing that my shadows are held by your light,. My biggest believer, a brightness that uncovers the paths that are hidden, you open my eyes to the endless possibilities that burn within. Ever-watchful yet freeing, your support continuously shines, giving rise to my constellations while igniting my way back home. With your love as my guide, my true direction lies inside. So close to my heart, I'll always know where you are – never that far, my north star. A love that always returns. A light that always burns. A healer of the heart. A lantern in the dark. A forever in my sky. A constant home nearby. You are my true north – my guiding star, the light of my life.
