Obituary

Kim Jeanette Collins, 68, a lifetime resident of Northport and New London, Wisconsin, was called to her eternal home on October 28, 2026.

Kim was born on December 23, 1957, in New London, Wisconsin, to the late Pauline (Dawson) Collins and Everette Collins. She graduated New London Senior High School with the class of 1976. She was grounded in her faith as a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.

Kim worked a variety of jobs throughout the greater New London area, including positions in local factories, hotels, and restaurants. When her son was young, she chose to stay home and provide childcare for local families, combining her love of children with the opportunity to raise her son. Later, she found her true calling as a cashier at Walmart, where she worked for more than 20 years. Kim was known and appreciated by countless customers and coworkers for her warm smile, friendly personality, and welcoming presence.

In her free time, Kim enjoyed crocheting scarves, afghans, and Christmas stockings for family and friends. In later years, she found joy in playing bingo, watching movies, spending time with friends, attending community music performances, and enjoying a good old-fashioned chicken dinner.

Kim is lovingly survived by her son, Nathan (Chilwin Tanamal) Tapio; her grandchildren, Jadyn and Damien; her brother, Steven (Rose) Collins; her sister, Kelly (Joan Wakefield) Collins; her brother, Kevin (Tracie) Collins; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, special friends, bingo buddies, coworkers, neighbors and others whose lives were touched by her kindness and friendship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Everette Collins, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

Family extends special thanks to Rose Collins and the many friends and community members whose support meant so much to Kim.

A Memorial service for Kim will be held Friday, November 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, 209 W. Cook St., New London, Wisconsin. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Kim's memory.

Kim's family will forever remember her gentle heart, cheerful smile, love of family, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, friendship, and simple joys that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
