Larry Dumbleton, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 after a 3-year battle with cancer.

Larry was born on April 22, 1939 to the late Glen and Ethel (Wilcox) Dumbleton and he married Joan Slater on his 33rd birthday. He worked at Curwood in New London for 40 years but many knew him for his rabbits, eggs and produce.

Larry is survived by his only son, Christopher (Dawn Nackers) Dumbleton; two grandchildren, Ian and Emma; four step-children, Kim (Debbie) Slater, Jennifer (John) Swenson, Jessica Slater, Charles (Michele) Slater; eight step-grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, and 3 step-great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Tom Prahl and James Craig; sisters-in-law, Pat Craig, Janice (Tom) Jones, and Jill (Phil) Brown; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his sisters, Carol Prahl and Judy Schendel; brother, Jerry Dumbleton; sister-in-law, Sandy Dumbleton, and brother-in-law, Jock Craig.

To honor Larry’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In his words, “If they can’t come see me when I’m alive, they don’t need to come when I’m dead.”
