Obituary

Larry Goudreau age 77 of New London passed away peacefully on June 25th with his wife Lori and his children by his side. Larry was born September 24, 1948 to Joseph and Henrietta Goudreau and grew up in Niagara WI. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war attaining the rank of GMG3 – Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class.

After his military service was complete, Larry spent the next 40 years working as a fabricator building fire trucks at Pierce Manufacturing retiring in 2013. Larry loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting and just sitting around the firepit drinking a beer and shooting the shit with family, friends and neighbors. But most of all, Larry enjoyed spending time with family making many lasting memories.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, his children Jason (Kelly) Goudreau, Jessica (Paul) Braun, Jodie (Robert) Smallwood and his precious grandchildren Gavin, Gracelynn, Gabriella, Eleanor, Grady, Kane and Ezekiel.

He is also survived by a daughter from a previous marriage, Becky Daverveld and her children Michael (Katie) Daverveld, Brooke (Caleb) Wallace and Zachary Daverveld and their children. He is further survived by his mother-in-law Althea Fulcer, Brother Mike Goudreau, Sisters Sharon (Mike) Wilson, Bonnie Cieslak and Pam (Ron) Neuens. Brother-in-laws Dwayne (Gina) Maroszek, Bryan Adam and Sister-in-law Becky (Dennis) Van Asten as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Henrietta Goudreau, father-in-law Gary Fulcer, brothers-in-law Bill Pellegrini and Paul Cieslak and sister-in-law Jeanne Goudreau.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Theda Care Regional Cancer Center and Froedtert Hospital who took such great care of him during his MDS cancer diagnosis and subsequent bone marrow transplant as well as the wonderful staff and volunteers at Kathy’s House for the care and compassion they showed us during our 3 month stay in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kathy’s House in Larry’s name.

The Funeral Service with full military honors will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, in New London, Wisconsin, with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Larry will be buried at Turney Hill Cemetery.
