Laura Sweeney Memorial Service Video

Laura Lee (Fink) Sweeney "Pretty Laura" passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the age of 77, with her loving husband of 57 years, and four children by her side. Laura was born on February 14, 1948 to the late Robert and Millie (Martzel) Fink. She grew up in Kaukauna and later moved to Hortonville, where she graduated High School and met the love of her life, Dave. Laura and Dave were married in New London on May 18, 1968.

Laura was a selfless person. Along with raising four children, she also babysat and ran her own cleaning company for many years. She was "second" mom to all the kid's friends and meant a lot to many of her nieces and nephews. She loved to play bingo and was always just "one away". Everyone who knew Laura knew that family came first. She was one of twelve siblings, and in her later years, was the glue that kept the family together by organizing reunions and gatherings. She spent her entire life doing for others. The love Laura had for her husband and her family never waivered.

Laura is survived by her husband, Dave Sweeney and their four children, Laurie Sweeney (Brian Schmidt), Chris (Paul) Kamke, Todd (Kelly) Sweeney, and Jason (Tracy) Sweeney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cody (Maddi) Leitermann, Sara (Kris) Knauer, Alicyn Kamke, Nick Kamke, Brianna (Eric) Van Eyck, Caitlin Sweeney, Bailey Sweeney (Kyleigh), Bryce Sweeney, Brandon Sweeney, Caitlin Schmidt, Johnathon Schmidt, and one great-grandchild on the way.

Laura lived a full and wonderful life and was loved beyond measure.

The Memorial Service for Laura will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery in New London at a later date.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Laura's granddaughter, Caitlin, for her loving care.
