Leland "Lee"
E. Huebner
March 2, 1944 – March 11, 2023
Leland E. Huebner, age 79 of New London, joined his forever love, Sandy on Saturday, March 11, 2023. His family was by his side that week, reminiscing about the past. Lee was an amazing man, willing to help anyone in need. He was a "jack of all trades"-witching wells, mechanic, farming- he could do just about anything that was asked of him. Leland was born on March 2, 1944 to the late Earl and Blanche (Plumb) Huebner on the home farm. He was united in marriage to Sandra Waterstradt on July 17, 1964. Together, they did many things- among their favorites, was spending time at their "second home" in Crandon. Lee loved his time farming, taking care of his cows and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his children, Lori (Brian) Finger, Leanne (Jeff) Ernst, Lee Jay (Cindy) Huebner and Lynn (David) Faucher; grandchildren, Mack, Jessi, Stephanie, Brittany, Justin, Login, Amanda, Amber, Jared and Paige; eleven great-grandchildren; two special nephews, Ron Euhardy and Steve Drum; special friends, Bill May and Howie Hamilton. Our dad was recently given the gift of meeting his first born daughter, Brenda. He is further survived by his siblings, Karen (John) Euhardy, Bill (Sharon) Huebner, Tom (Nancy) Huebner and Jim (Mary) Huebner.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; wife and sister, Barb (Rich) Drum.
A private Celebration of Lee's Life will be held.
LELAND'S HANDS ~ Written by Lee's grandson- Justin Boelhower
With an appearance more of chiseled stone
Than of flesh and blood
Their every clench, every deep cut line
Reads better than any novel.
Their color is that of a root—
Reaches further into the earth than roots;
Wears toil with honor,
Turns over soil and
Wills sustenance from it.
Fells trees – plants them.
The stories those hands could tell.
But they don't.
Too wise for words
They prefer a commanding silence.
Always noble in action,
Not always in decision.
They hang in the air
Like mountains grave,
Capable of greater grandeur.
