Lois Schucknecht's Funeral Service Video
Lois Aretta (Pohlman, Roloff) Schucknecht passed away at St. Joseph Residence, with her family present, at age 93 on March 2, 2024.
Lois was born to Hilda Spoehr Schultz and Louis Pohlman on June 29, 1930 in the village of Black Creek, Wisconsin. She married Howard Roloff in 1948 and had five children. They were married for 43 years before Howard passed away in 1991. They enjoyed going camping, going out for supper and spending time with family. Lois was also a second mom to many of the neighborhood children.
Lois worked at St. Joseph Residence for 25 years and Marian Heights for an additional five years. She enjoyed her work and was happy when she was helping others. Lois was an avid bowler and achieved many bowling awards. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing crosswords and word finds, and putting puzzles together. She also worked with the Emanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She loved writing poetry and was extremely proud that one of her poems was published.
Lois married Melvin Schucknecht in 1994 and they enjoyed 26 years together before he passed away in 2020. In marrying Mel, she gained five step children who she loved very much.
Lois is survived by four children, Sandy (Jack) Rasmussen, Pam (Rick) Houk, Ted (Darla) Roloff and Jane (Alex Emina) Roloff; five step children, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the hospice nursing staff, Ascension nurse, Kayla S., and the employees of St. Joseph Residence that made her final days more comfortable and gave her wonderful care.
Lois is preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Roloff and Melvin Schucknecht; son, Larry Roloff; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Roloff; granddaughter, Wanda Claussen; mother, Hilda Quaintance; father, Louis Pohlman; and her three sisters, Norma Quaintance, Carolyn Fahser and Linda Quaintance.
The Funeral Service for Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Cline & Hansen Funeral Home in New London, Wisconsin with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in New Maple Creek Cemetery next to Howard.
Lois wanted us to share some final words:
"Do not grieve when I pass away
For I have gone on before
To take my place in my Father's house
And greet you at his door."
