Lon G. Kringel, age 81 of New London passed away suddenly on Friday, October 13, 2023 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Lon was born on February 17, 1942 in New London to the late Melvin and Arlouine (Burns) Kringel.  He was a long-time barber, welder and bait shop owner.  Lon loved the outdoors hunting and fishing, but loved nothing more than time spent with his grandkids.  He was also a sports fanatic.  In his younger years he was an accomplished boxer and baseball player.  Lon was a fantastic cook, known for his chili, roasts and soups.

Lon is survived by his special friend, Judy Luedke; children, Kelly (John) Locy, Joel (Leslie)  Kringel and Cris (Bobbi) Kringel; grandchildren, Alexis (Ryan) Henschel, Paeton Kringel, Joa Kringel, Logan Locy and Garret Locy; great-granddaughter, Lainey Henschel and his siblings, Jerry (Thu) Kringel, Tonya (Paul) Reynolds and Jill (William) Sery.

Lon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ginny; children, Terren Kringel and Angela Kringel and step-daughter, Jessica Spencer and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Lon's Life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at St. Joes, his doctors and his special friend, Judy, who was there for him through thick and thin.
