Louis R. Riehl of Shiocton, Wisconsin was peacefully called home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the age of 77. Louis was born in New London on January 31, 1948, the son of the late Nolan and Rose (Cable) Riehl. He lived most of his life in the Shiocton area.
Over the years, Louis worked for Ort Lumber Co. and also Outagamie County Recycling Plant and the Ron Volkman Farm. Louie was a dedicated and hard worker, never missing a day of work. He liked socializing with everyone and attending events in Shiocton Village. He enjoyed watching old Western shows, cheering on his Green Bay Packers, and going for rides in the country with Jean. He was an avid collector of aluminum cans. He enjoyed the visits from Pastor Schoell and Pastor Gaertner.
Louis is survived by his siblings, James (Judy) Riehl, Nancy Plach, Cathy Puls, Lois Volkman, and Steven (Bev) Riehl; sisters-in-law, Judy Riehl, Arlene Riehl, and Carol Wendt; brother-in-law, Mark Stapel; and many nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Rose Riehl; siblings, Paul, Jean, Leo, Gerald, Wesley, Leslie, Leonard, Sharon, Danny Lee, Thomas, Keith, and Joseph; along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank Jean, the staff of Combined Guardians, especially Jeff and Peggy, as well as Edenbrook and Staff.
The Funeral Service for Louis will be held at 11:00 am. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton, Wisconsin, with Pastor Matthew Schoell as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Burial will take place at a later date.
