Marian Gambsky's Funeral Mass Video Marian Agnes Gambsky, age 92 of Hortonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Living Tree Estates in Greenville. Marian was born on March 20, 1930 in Appleton to the late Ernest and Adeline (Duce) Coenen. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Appleton High School with the class of 1948. Marian was united in marriage to Gordon Gambsky in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1991. Starting at the age of 16, she began working at Scolding Locks Hairpin Factory in Appleton- retiring after 50 years with the company. Marian enjoyed bowling, as well as golfing on leagues with other office girls. She and Gordy spent much of their free time boating, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Marian loved to tell the story of the deer hunting season, many years ago, when she bagged the first deer registered in Hortonville- a buck! She especially loved motorcycle trips with Gordy- traveling near and far. Gordy suffered from MS and Marian lovingly cared for him at home until his death. She was an active volunteer at SS Pater & Paul Parish, devoting time to their fish fries. Marian was also involved with the Food Pantry at Dale. She loved dogs, feeding the birds, and above all her independence. Marian was able to live long and independently, with the generous help of friends, neighbors and community.
Marian is survived by her brother, James (Rosie) Coenen; sister-in-law, Sis Coenen and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Carol (Chuck) Kargus and Arlene (Don) Netzel; brothers, Ralph Coenen and Allan (Ellen) Coenen.
The funeral mass for Marian will be held at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville on Friday, April 22, 2022 with Fr. Phil Schoofs officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
"Marian's family would like to extend their appreciation to her neighbors for their support, especially Sally and Gene Quella, who always had Marian's back when it meant the most. Also, thanks to Hortonville Police Department for always insuring Marian was safe and sound. Thanks to Living Tree Estate staff for their love and mercy. And last but not least, thank you to ThedaCare Hospice."
