Marie Ann Kaczmarzyk was surrounded by her family when she passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 85, after a brief battle with cancer. Marie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, laughter and devotion to family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone she met.

Marie was born on August 5, 1940 to the late Edward and Bernice (Klinger) Strozinski in Mosinee, Wisconsin. She married Leonard Kaczmarzyk on May 30, 1964 and they shared 61 wonderful years together. They were truly inseparable and built a life filled with love, adventure, and shared devotion to family.

Marie dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others. She began her career as a registered nurse, working in a hospital for several years before continuing her work in healthcare through Clinical Research at Kimberly Clark Corporation. In retirement she volunteered for ThedaCare, the Hortonville Food Pantry and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Her compassion, intelligence, and commitment to helping others were evident in all she did.

Together, Len and Marie were active and engaged parents and grandparents, creating countless memories that their family will cherish forever. A kid at heart, Marie never hesitated to sit right down on the floor to play, laugh, and create with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated fan at the children's sporting events, as well as musical and theatrical performances. Her great sense of humor and joyful spirit made her the perfect audience for silly jokes and playful moments.

Marie loved to travel, especially on family trips to Florida. The beach held a special place in her heart, and she and Len spent the past 22 winters in Venice. She delighted in seeing new places and meeting new people. Her travels also took her throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe, often with the Christian group tours from the Fox Valley. She had many dear friends and a calendar always full of activity and connection.

Marie treasured the time she spent with her sister Patricia (William) Loy and brother Leonard (Diane) Strozinski and their spouses, making it a priority to plan extended visits throughout the year. These special gatherings often included an adventure, delicious meals, and evenings ending with a game of Sheepshead and an Old Fashioned or two.

A devout Christian, Marie lived her faith through service. She was active in her church as a greeter and volunteered for many fundraising events. She was a proud member of the Catholic Christian Women's Club for over 30 years.

Marie led an active and healthy lifestyle, and was dedicated to getting daily physical activity through walking, biking, golfing, yoga, skiing, gardening and polka dancing. She was a long time member of the Kimberly Clark fitness center, and never missed her daily Silver Sneakers class. She and Len had a big, beautiful garden where she spent summers harvesting and storing the fresh fruits and vegetables that we were privileged to enjoy.

Marie is survived by her husband, Leonard, two children Michael (Cheryl) Kaczmarzyk and Brenda (Thomas) Leigh; grandchildren, Anthony (Trisha) Kaczmarzyk, Ericka (Jeremy) Mulroy, Lucas (Alexandra) Kaczmarzyk, Addison (Collin) Hofmann, Aydan (Rebecca) Leigh, Elizabeth Leigh, and Brynn (Jacob) Weldon; great grandchildren Owen, Lilianna, Everly, Isabella, Carter, Calvin, Grace, Tate, Maeve and Oliver; brother Leonard (Diane) Strozinski, sister Patricia (William) Loy; brother-in-law Raymond (Jeanine) Kaczmarzyk; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at ThedaCare Heritage and ThedaCare Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care that they showed our mother.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11;00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville, Wisconsin, with Fr. Phil Schoofs as celebrant. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Mosinee, Wisconsin.
