Marie A. Skowron of Appleton, WI and formerly of Moultonborough, NH passed peacefully into Eternal Life on March 19th, 2025, at age 93.  She was born in South Jersey to Marie and Robert Tatem, and spent her early years in Haddonfield, NJ.  Marie enjoyed happy times with her many cousins at a family summer camp in Maine.  She graduated from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA with degrees in both Mathematics and Philosophy.

After marriage, Marie raised her children in South Jersey and contributed her time to several service organizations, most notably the Haddon Fortnightly woman's club in Haddonfield, NJ for over 40 years. Her family remembers many summer camping trips, where she snuggled them into tent mattress beds, gracefully struggled with outdoor cooking, and took them to varied educational sites.  Marie loved reading, needlework, birdwatching, flower arranging, gardening, and especially playing card games with her daughters and grandchildren.  She was active as a National Guard wife and accompanied her husband to many military conventions. Marie was a supporter of the National Guard Association and a member of the Legion de Lafayette.  She was a proud lifetime member of the Pilgrim John Howland Society.

Upon her husband's retirement they moved to a much-loved lakeside retreat in Moultonborough, NH, where they had often vacationed.  She volunteered for and supported the Interlakes Community Caregivers, and was a patron of many other local organizations including the Loon Preservation Committee.   She enjoyed singing in various groups including the NH Music Festival Chorus and the choir of St. Charles Borromeo R.C. Church, where she was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister for many years.   She kept in touch with friends from near and far.

A while after her husband's death, Marie moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family.  She valued her many new friends, and came to love them.

Marie was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph, a prominent South Jersey ophthalmologist, and by her brother William.  She is survived by her children Ralph (Julia) Skowron, Marie  (Joseph) Perrone, Patricia (Phillip) Temple, and Annette (Derek) Araje, and grandchildren Marie Maurizio, Joseph Perrone, Katherine LaChance, Sharon Perrone, Kevin Araje, Christina Araje, Diana Rokke, and Carolyn Araje.  In addition, she is survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville, WI on Saturday, April 12th.  Visitation will start at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM.  The service will be recorded and available for viewing after April 13th on the website of Cline Hanson Funeral Home, New London, WI.  Interment will be private, at a later date.

Details regarding a Memorial Mass to be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith, New Hampshire will be published at the appropriate time.
