Marilyn Rose Davis Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, passed away June 2, 2026, at the age of 73.
Marilyn was the devoted widow of Jim Davis, whom she loved deeply and missed dearly. A lifelong accountant, she was known for her strong will and dedication. She found great joy in gardening, watching her flowers bloom, and sharing plants and cuttings with friends. In her later years, some of her greatest joy came from spending time with her youngest grandson, Brendann. She also was a proud and loving dog grandma to Chica and the furballs.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Michael (Robin) Van Gompel and Chad (Kelly) Van Gompel; her grandchildren, Carley (Robert), Jake (Sam), Chelsey (Marcus), Brendann, Kolton (Kaitlyn), and Kaleb (Makenna); her brothers, Delmar (Mary) and Glen (Judy); nieces and nephews; and her very best friends who kept her young and strong in her illness, Michelle, Kathy, Lisa, Kay and Rae.
She was welcomed into eternal peace by her parents, Allan and Zapora Abel; her beloved husband, Jim Davis; and her grandson, Justin.
The family extends their most sincere gratitude to the entire staff at ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center in Appleton for the exceptional care, compassion, and the unwavering support they showed Marilyn throughout her journey.
Marilyn’s love, strength, and stubborn spirit will be missed beyond words but remembered always by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Fly free to your cardinal, whose love has been waiting for you. May you rest peacefully together once again.
The Memorial Service for Marilyn will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service
