Marlin Brown's Memorial Service Video
Marlin "Marly" Brown, age 89, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Marlin was born on September 26, 1933, to the late Andy and Lydia (Rudie) Brown.
Marlin had a lot of fun hobbies growing up, such as, playing baseball, deer hunting with his brothers and ski jumping. On June 25, 1955, he was united in marriage to Shirley (Dorschner). Shortly after their union, Marlin was drafted to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Marlin, and his brother Duane, opened Brown's Service Station in New London and following that, he started Brown's Towing Service & Citgo Station. Marlin and his wife, Shirley, then started Marly's Restaurant, also in New London, which is still in operation today.
After retirement, Marlin and Shirley enjoyed traveling to Florida during the colder months in Wisconsin. Marlin was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of the New London Lions Club, even serving as president multiple times over his tenure.
Marlin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley; his daughter, LeAnne Brown; son, Greg (Kim) Brown; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Somers, Robert Marlin Ebben (special friend, Alexis) and Tylan (Brittany) Brown. He was also blessed to have several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Marlin is further survived by his sisters in-law and brothers in-law, Delores Thompson, Jacqueline Draheim, Sara (Paul) Laubenstein, Sandra (Kenneth) Carew and Terry (Mary) Dorschner; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Lydia; his brothers and their wives, Louis (Betty) Brown, Duane (Faith) Brown; brothers in-law, Darrell Dorschner, Glen Thompson and Robert Draheim.

A Memorial Service for Marlin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London with Pastor Marcus Schultz officiating. The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
