Mary Guenther's Funeral Mass Video
Mary E. Guenther, age 91, of Greenville, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Mary was born in New London on March 20, 1932 to the late Ed and Agnes (Griffin) Hogan. She married Earl "Josh" Guenther on January 3, 1955.
Mary started her banking career after graduating from New London High School, at First State Bank of New London. She soon moved on in her career to several banks with the majority of her banking years in Greenville; opening and managing American State Bank branch office, soon to be Valley Bank, then M&I. After retirement, Mary took a part-time job with Fox Valley Greyhound Park. Mary even had the privilege of working for the Kentucky Derby for several years. She also enjoyed going to the casino and spending her winters in Arizona. Mary followed the stock market and politics closely, was a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers and was very proud of her Irish Heritage.
Mary is survived by her brother, John Hogan; her sister-in-laws, Louise Chung and Yvonne Guenther and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Josh; her son, Greg; her parents, Ed and Agnes; siblings, Lynette (Melvin) Schramm, Lucille (Carl) Brasch, Ethel (Leonard) Schramm, Eddie Hogan, Yvonne Hogan, and Jim Hogan; in-laws, Diane Hogan, August (Huda) (Wollenberg) Guenther and their children and spouses, Carl (Irene) Guenther, Leonard Guenther, Lloyd (Joyce) Guenther, Irma (Orin) Stevenson, Joseph Chung and Lally (Gordon) Specht.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Greenville, with Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenville.
The family wishes to thank Pat Marten, Ron and Carol Bunkleman, Geri Paschke, Wanda Winterfeldt, and Tyler Winterfeldt for the special care given to Mary.
