Age 82 passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at her residence following a short illness in the presence of her loving husband and family. Mary Jane was born on November 26, 1923, in Appleton daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Jenkel) Ort. On June 26, 1942, Mary Jane married Lyle Kaddatz in Ellington Township. She was a resident of New London for the past 30 years. Mary Jane was a 4-H leader, a volunteer at the New London Senior Center, and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She was formerly the Town of Ellington's assessor and worked for Ort Lumber until retirement.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 63 years Lyle, two daughters: Patricia (James) Rainer, Cedarburg; Pamela (Keith) Bilyeu, Appleton; a son John (Gloria) Kaddatz, Kenosha; a brother Gerald (Carol) Ort, Clintonville; a sister Karen (Robert) Horsley, Arizona; grandchildren: Rory (Karen) Kaddatz; Roxanne (Brian) Neumann, Bobbie Sue (John) Warnke, Jeff (Wendy) Rainer; Joe (Diane) Rainer, Jamie Kaddatz, and John Ryan Kaddatz; great-grandchildren: True Kaddatz, Marissa and Mariya Neumann, Sheena and Shemane Warnke; a former daughter-in-law Jayne LeRette; a dear aunt Ruth Remter; a very special nephew Bradley and Carrie Ort; and a very close friend Dawn Drews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons: James and Gene, and four brothers: Edward Jr., Robert, David and Ralph Ort.

Funeral services for Mary Jane will be held on Monday, December 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Bill Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Ellington Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Sunday, December 4, 2005, from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
