Michael Fermanich's Funeral Service Video

Michael Richard Fermanich, age 76, passed away on the morning of July 2nd, 2023 with loved ones at his side. Mike was born to Urban and Harriet Fermanich on April 10th, 1947 in New London, Wisconsin. He spent his early life on the family farm and business, Fermanich Implements, with his five siblings. He carried his appreciation for the simplicity of those days (and his love of tractors) far beyond.

On April 17th, 1989, Mike married Jenny Falk after reconnecting with her at Charlie's Bar. According to the lore, the two had crossed paths decades earlier when Mike had rescued Jenny from car troubles after a night out. This same kind of practical, thoughtful care for her continued on until his passing, particularly in the last few years as dementia has taken a toll on Jenny.

Though reserved on the surface, Mike's goofy demeanor behind the scenes was a delight to those lucky enough to witness it. He was a hard worker who enjoyed building with his hands, creating meticulously-crafted furniture that has adorned their home for years. He never skipped dessert or passed up a brat fry, and relished long, meandering country drives. All of these qualities (and so many more) equipped him for the role he was perhaps best at: being a grandpa.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; Urban and Harriet Fermanich, and siblings; Mary Chipman and Marlene Worner.

Mike is survived by his siblings; Carol Eickhoff, James (Ila) Fermanich, and David (Shirley) Fermanich, his wife Jenny, children; Stephanie (Thomas) Caimotto, Daniela Callan, Kristin (Marshall) Shields, Jeff Fletcher, and Tracy (Brian) Peebles, and grandchildren; Alyssa Lentz, Bryce Peebles, Dominick and Sarah Caimotto, and Jacob, Colton, and Olivia Shields. Our family also wishes to recognize the love and support of Jim and Candy Falk, Mike's brother- and sister-in-law.

A Funeral Service for Michael will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Thursday, July 6th, 2023.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m.
