Michael Laffoon's Funeral Service Video

Michael D. Laffoon, age 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 27, 2025. Michael was born on September 16, 1945 to the late Clayborn and Mary (Few) Laffoon.

At age two, Michael began to suffer from Polio. Despite his disability, he was able to golf throughout his life, swim, teach baseball and basketball, and so much more, Michael was an unstoppable Dad and Grandpa. He was not without his struggles, but that made him strong. Michael was also very smart, even receiving an award at work for his coatings (Innovation Award). Michael was joined in marriage on August 18, 1973 to Janet Kuranda and celebrated 51 loving years together. Michael was also a pool shark, which helped him pay his way through college and enjoyed a good competitive game of ping pong. He was an avid collector.

Michael is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Tina (Gus Tessmer) Mischung, Deanna (Scott) Porter, Jason (Noortje Oudhuis) Laffoon, Wesley (Kirsten) Laffoon ; sister, Rosemary (Wallace) Downey; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his best friend, his dog Ninja.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Laffoon.

The Funeral Service for Michael will held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Hortonville with the Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Theda Care of New London and the Ambulance staff who offered care for Michael.
