Michael's preferred obituary- He croaked.
The family's remembrance.
Michael Mischker, age 69 of Hortonville, passed away at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa on Sunday, November 20, 2022 with his wife and daughters by his side. He was born to Donald and June (Zimmermann) Mischker and grew up in Wauwatosa, where he graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in 1971.
Michael was a man of many talents. He was a Boy Scout adviser, a backstage theater manager, built cabinets and furniture for our homes, and restored several vehicles including a Bronco and a Ranchero. Michael taught Rider Education classes at Fox Valley Technical College and for the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Michael was rightly proud of his skills in repairing dental equipment and planning dental office spaces.
Michael and his wife, Lynne, enjoyed traveling to Scandinavia, Mexico, and the Caribbean, where they went scuba diving for seven days. His favorite vacation pleasures were laying in the sun by the pool and eating good seafood and fish. Michael was a hunter and fisherman, who liked catching plenty of fish but did a lot of catch and release. He especially liked his early summer week of fishing in Canada with his good friend Shawn Peronto. Michael loved motorcycles and traveled all over the country with his wife, Lynne, even renting a motorcycle to ride for three days on Maui. Michael enjoyed driving his RV, whether it was a short trip in Wisconsin or across the country to California with friends Dave and Sandie Nackers. Michael's large green tractor was his pride and joy as he manicured the lawn and cleared snow from many driveways in the neighborhood. He faithfully drove a boat each summer as his daughters grew up so they could water-ski or so he could dump them off the ski tube. One of the many family memories on car drives is of Michael stating that he was not lost when driving, just taking a "shortcut". This always elicited groans.
Michael was devoted to providing for his family. His daughters and four grandchildren were bright lights in his life.
Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynne; children, Stacy (Mike) Boettcher, and Leslie (Shawn) Swinford; grandchildren: Alexandria and Bryna Boettcher, and Logan and Austin Swinford. He is further survived by his mother, June Mischker; sister, Debra (Craig) Cornell and her son, Ryan (Sheri) Schneider and his children, Zachary and Gracyn; brother, Steve Mischker and his daughter, Samantha and sons, Ben and Jeremy; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Tom Zornow) Schultz and Chris (Tim) Marek; and many friends, including his Kwik Trip coffee buddies.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Donald Mischker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Jean Schultz; a niece, Heather Schneider, daughter of Debra Cornell, and a nephew, Jason, son of Steve Mischker.
Special thanks to the nursing team on the BMT transplant floor at Froedtert Hospital Complex in Wauwatosa, for their care and compassion during Michael's stay.
You left too soon, Michael, 47 years were not enough. Thank you for the time and love we had.
A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held at a later date.
