Michael A. Pawelczyk, age 76, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026. Michael was born in Pulaski on July 10, 1949 to the late Adam and Regina (Zima) Pawelczyk. He married Bernadette "Bernie" Kautza on June 10, 1978.
Michael worked as a salesman for an after market automotive company for 25 years. Then he drove truck for Levenhagen Oil until his retirement. He was very involved with Levenhagen, working in many places for them, including EAA. He then joined the Christian Motorcyclists Association, which was a great passion of his. Outside of work he loved deer hunting, golf, his dogs, and spending time with his family. He was an avid Cubs fan and he competed in football in high school.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Bernie. They would be celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary in June. He is also survived by his son, Adam (Michelle) Pawelczyk and his daughter, Katie Pawelczyk; his brother, Tom (Connie) Powell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jo (Duane) Ninnemann, Anna (Dean) Schardt, Georgine (Kris) Kautza, Pat (Richard) Ottman, Mark (Deb) Kautza, Peter Kautza, Kathy Kautza, Cathy Kautza, Diana Pawelczyk; and adopted at heart family, Jennifer, Mya, Anna, Tylor, Kim, Evelyn, Jake, and many other relatives and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Regina; his brothers Jerry and Dan; sisters-in-law, Pat and Sue; father-in-law, Clifford and mother-in-law, Catherine; his nephew, Kyle; and brother-in-law, Larry.
The Memorial Service for Michael will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville, with Chaplain Virgil Otto officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the St. Elizabeth's 3rd floor nursing staff for their compassion and care given to Michael.
