Milo V. Lemke, age 87 of Hortonville passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Milo was born on August 30, 1936, son of Arthur and Hazel (Herman) Lemke. He married Joan Krause on January 24, 1959. Milo farmed in the Hortonville area and upon retirement worked for the Hortonville Area School District along with selling pumpkins on their farm. He was a member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church in Hortonville. Milo served as a fireman for the Hortonville rural Fire Department. He enjoyed walleye fishing and hunting. Milo was always looking forward to family get-togethers and a good game of Sheepshead. He followed both the Brewers and the Cubs, and enjoyed attending his grandkids and great-grandkids ball games. Every Christmas he loved being Santa. Other activities that Milo enjoyed were snowmobiling, cutting the lawn and bowling league.
Milo is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan; son Jeff (Kathy) Lemke and daughter, Lisa (Bill) Timm; his cherished grandchildren, Jason (Ashlee) Lemke, Brandon (Megan) Lemke, Collin (MaKayla) Lemke, Justin (Cassidee) Timm, Jamie Timm and Cory Timm; his great-grandchildren, Milo and Maggie Timm and Ryder and Maren Lemke; his sisters, Lorraine Young and Loretta (Len) Bellile and his in-laws, Dan (Brenda) Krause and Beatrice Krause.
Milo was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Adolph and Dorothy Krause; daughter, Barb Lemke; grandson, Brett Lemke; brothers, Russell, Art (Phyllis) and Robert; sister, Helen (Gordon) Wege; brothers-in-law, Jim, Jerry and Dave Krause, Ralph Riehl and Dave Young.
The Christian Funeral for Milo will be held at Noon on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (752 E. Grand View Rd) in Hortonville with Rev. Kevin Westra officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Pastor Westra and Pastor Paustian for their prayers and support.
