Mickey Guyette's Funeral Service Video

Monica (Mickey) Ruth Guyette, age 68, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, December 22, 2023. Mickey was born on April 5, 1955 in Kingsford, Michigan, to the late Donald and Gene (Federspiel) Lessor. She graduated from Hortonville High School in 1973. Mickey married Tim Guyette, the love of her life and her best friend, on November 3, 1973, just 5 short months after meeting him. Together, they built a life they were proud of and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Mickey was a hard worker with various job titles from secretary, manager of a golf course, and mail carrier. In 1987, she and Tim purchased the Black Otter Hotel in Hortonville from Tim's parents. They successfully operated it for over a decade and in that time they turned the bar and hotel into what it is known today as The Black Otter Supper Club. They then sold the Black Otter to their son, Bob, and his wife Geri, in 2003. Retirement didn't last long though.  In 2010, they opened and operated Otter Creek Sports Bar in Hortonville, and remained its owners for 7 years.  Mickey was an avid golfer and won the Mother / Son Golf Tournament twice, and the Husband / Wife State Golf Tournament twice as well. She also got a hole-in-one, which led her to name her dog Ace. She even golfed with Joanne Carner, a.k.a. "Big Mama" in the Pro-Am Tournament, and at the end of 18 holes Joanne said to Mickey, "I wish I could putt like you." Mickey also enjoyed shooting pool and won many tournaments.  Mickey's most cherished memories were spending her free time watching her grandchildren in various events - concerts, musicals, sports, you name it. Whatever they were in, she made time to sit in the stands and cheer them on, with Tim by her side. Of course, Grandma and Grandpa also loved getting all the grandkids on the golf course any chance they had.  Mickey also enjoyed traveling and going on vacations; whether it was golfing as many different courses as she could with her special golf friends, or exploring new adventures with her family. Recently, she faced her biggest fear

of water by swimming with dolphins, snorkeling with stingrays, and parasailing over the Atlantic Ocean.  Mickey had a beautiful smile that would light up a room, laughter that was contagious, and a heart that was larger than life. She will forever be remembered for the kindness she shared, with whomever she met.

Mickey is survived by her loving husband, Tim; their children and grandchildren; Bob (Geri) Guyette, Austin, Preston, Jensen; Stacey Guyette (boyfriend Kelly Buss) Brady, Bryce, Bryana, great grandchildren Kaynen and Lena; Kari (Bret) Magolski, Autumn and Chesney. Tricia (Steve) Geiger, Nick (Taylor) Morella, Alissa and Brittany Vissers. She is further survived by her siblings: Patsy (the late Tony) Fischer, Pamela (Dan) Huelsbeck, Don (Tracy) Lessor, and Chris (Cindy) Lessor, as well as her in-laws: Tom (Sharon) Guyette, Susie Partika, Cindysue Garvey (Jeff Parker) Leo R. Guyette, Kristy (Kevin) Levezow. Additionally, Mickey is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends who loved her dearly.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ronald Lessor; Tim's parents, Leo and Phyllis Guyette; and special nephew, Mike Vissers.
