A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at N6183 State Hwy 45, New London at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will start at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Nancy Jean Nieto, age 70 of New London, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her family following a three-month struggle with cancer.  Nancy was born on December 22, 1951 to the late Verlan and Geri (Olesen) Sawall.  She was united in marriage to Ben Nieto on November 13, 1970 in New London.  Nancy loved hunting turkey and deer, gardening, wood crafting, knitting, sewing, camping and vacationing in Florida with her sisters.  She worked at Wal-Mart for 25 years, until her retirement.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ben; children, Paul (Karrie) Nieto, Ben (Krista) Nieto, Tony Nieto and Joe Nieto; grandchildren, Michael, Paulie, Alex, Maya, Brenden, Annalea, Kyra and Zach; siblings, Barb (Rick) Gassen, Veryl (Randy) Diem, Terri (Jim Schinke) Sawall, Jim (Mary) Sawall and Cari (Doug) Guerin; her in-laws, Rachel (Dan) Neely, Ray Cruz, Fred (Carla) Nieto and Frank (Laurie) Arizola and her best friends, Barb Gulbrandsen and Connie Neely.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Joshua; grandson, Joshua and sister-in-law, Linda Cruz.

The family wishes to thank ThedaCare Hospice and Nancy's personal caregiver, Cindy Dusel, who not only took care of Nancy during her final days, but taught the family how to make Nancy comfortable during this difficult experience.
