Niles Eugene Kettner, age 89, of the Town of Ellington, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023. Niles was born on September 27, 1933 to the late Joseph and Lydia (Lettman) Kettner. He married DeLila Dawes on August 5, 1953 and they went on to enjoy 67 years together.
Niles lived and farmed in the Shiocton area his entire life. When he wasn't working in the fields, he enjoyed going out dancing with DeLila and listening to music. He also enjoyed collecting anything John Deere related.
Because two people fell in love...
Niles is survived by his children, Paul Kettner, Kathy (Wayne) Boelter, David "Bud" (Amy) Kettner and Randy Kettner; grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Schultz, Chad (Crystal) Kettner, Stacy (Dave) Meyer, James Boelter, Matthew Boelter, Brad (Jessica) Boelter, Kayla (Jordan) Krebs, Emie (Jim) Phillips, Corrie Kettner, Ryan (Missy) Kettner, Ashley (Sunny) Ahuja and Kyle (Cassi) Kettner; great, and great-great-grandchildren, Allison, Malichi, Angelina, Alexica, Traetan, Haley, Braylee, Kaylie, Jamisen, Vincent, Cayden, Molly (Brandon), Jesse, Corbin, KayCee, Emma, Aerin, Raj, Blake, Gracie, Broden, Brynn, and Baby Krebs; sister in-laws, Annette Kettner, Betty Dawes and Debbie Guyette; brother in-law, Willard Much. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Niles was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lydia; his wife, DeLila; his son, Dennis; daughter in-law, Debbie Kettner; brothers, Russell (Donna), Dick, Merlyn (Betty), Earl (Leona), Roy; and his sister, June; In-laws, Don and Robert Dawes, Deloris and Darwin Scheid, Delaine Much, Ted Guyette, and infant great-grandson, Drayk Krebs.
The funeral service for Niles will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton, with Rev. Levi Rocke officiating. Visitation will be on the same day at the funeral home, from noon until the time of service.
The family would like to thank "Dr." Jenny and Melissa with Moments Hospice for the care and compassion given to Niles and they would also like to thank Heidi for the John Deere parade. A special thanks to grand-daughters Emie and Jenny for the countless hours of care.
