Patrick Joseph O'Brien, a true Irishman, passed away on August 24, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his family and his God. He was born on October 5, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI, the oldest son of the late Joseph T. and Lorraine M. O'Brien. He was almost three years old when he first met his father, SSG Joseph O'Brien, returning from Europe after WWII. His father then took over running the established O'Brien Dairy Farm in Manawa, WI, where Pat was raised with his six brothers and six sisters.

He graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa as the Class of 1960. He earned his Bachelors of Science from UW-Madison, where he was a ROTC drill team member. Upon graduation, he was promptly invited to join the US Army. He held the rank of First Lieutenant in the Military Police and was stationed at Granite City Army Depot, as Provost Marshal.

On July 15, 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, Pam Stevens, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa. They experienced Army life for three years and moved back to Berlin, WI, where he worked in agricultural sales. An opportunity to buy a small farm near his dad's, enabled him to raise dairy beef and be the General Contractor of his construction company.

Together Pat and Pam raised five children and with great joy, welcomed 12 grandchildren: Tara O'Brien; Bette (Ken Jaeger) O'Brien: Cody and Brooke Casey, Kendra and Kenleigh Jaeger; Joseph M. (Mary) O'Brien: Cole, Cora and Gabriel; Matthew (Shannon) O'Brien: Myles and Morgan; Mark O'Brien: Sage, Macy and Terry.

He is survived by his wife Pam, of 58 years and his siblings: Margaret Nelson, Tim (Mary) O'Brien, Susan (Robert) Kuehling, Katie Freiburger, Barbara Bodette, Florence (Steve) Premeau, JoAnn (Ross) Fenner, Jack (Wendy) O'Brien, Tom (Shelly) O'Brien, Frank (Lisa) O'Brien, Joel (Mary) O'Brien, sister-in-law Jackie Nytes, sister-in-law Tara (Norman) Heise.

He was loved and treasured relationships with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lorraine, and his brother, Michael. He was also preceded in death by Pam's mother, Bette Stevens, and his father-in-law, Myles Stevens; along with Myles' 2nd wife, Dorothy Stevens, and his brother-in-law Michael Freiburger.

Pat was a very giving, caring man in the lives of his large extended family and his church. He was a gifted religious education teacher and reached many teens with his down-to-earth discussions.

His family deeply thanks the many relatives and dear friends who were there for him through his lengthy illness.
