Pauline Morrissey's Memorial Mass Video

The Heavenly Angel Choir has a new Director. Pauline (Samer) Morrissey was taken to Heaven April 4, 2023.  She was born on December 22, 1927, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Lydia (O'Kreug) Samer. She was united in marriage to William Morrissey on June 5, 1948, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and their marriage was blessed with six children. Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who delighted in participating in the many activities of her children and grandchildren. Pauline had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was an accomplished pianist, organist, and guitar player. She spent decades directing The Saints Peter and Paul Church Choir. Pauline served her community as a member of the Hortonville Library Board for many years, and through her activities with the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player and an accomplished golfer. Pauline and her husband Bill were founding Charter Members of Grandview Golf Course in Hortonville.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Bill on February 8, 1995, and her four sisters, Genevieve (Ed) Eckhart; Virginia (Edward) Baker; Lorraine (Wilber) Schutes; Florence (Roy) Mueller; her brothers Carl (Marie) Samer; and Earl (Charlotte) Samer; her infant brother Paul; Father and Mother-in-Law James and Mabel (Curran) Morrissey; Brother and Sister-in-law John and Jane (Koenig) Morrissey; and Sisters-in-Law Ruth Ann Morrissey and Sara Jane Fisher.

She is survived by her children Tim (Toni) Morrissey of Bridgeport, CT; Lynn (the late Robert) Lee of Novi, MI; Mary (Joe) Lippert of Hortonville, WI, Patrick (fiancée Chris) of Chicago, IL; Michael (Beth) Morrissey of Neenah, WI, and Erin (the late Jon) Heinemann of Appleton, WI, and her special friend Bill Hunter. Pauline was grandmother to Dru and Ashly Denison, Mallory and John Bonarrigo; Andrea and Kyle Spade; Daniel and Samantha Lippert; Bennett and Ali Lippert; Joe and Betsy Morrissey; Sam Morrissey; Breanna Morrissey; Matt and Marie Morrissey; Jake Morrissey; Cheyenne Hunter; and seven Great-Grandchildren.

Pauline was a proud Aunt and kept in touch with her many nieces and nephews: Robert and Susan Samer; Dr. Marilyn and Larry Wilton; (the late) Ginny and Jim Steen; Jeff and Dawn Eckhart; Jeanne Stroh; Kathy and (the late) Jack Matonich; Nancy, Judy, and Gary Shutes; Rita and David Dildy; Ellen Morrissey and Rob Jennings; Marie Kostamo; and James and (the late) Thomas Morrissey.

Pauline's family wishes to thank Bluestone Physicians NP Emily Moon and NP Jackie Karlin, along with Promedica Heartland Hospice for their medical care and comfort of Pauline. And a special thank you to Father Phil Schoofs for his compassion, prayers, and daily vigil with Pauline on her final journey home to heaven.

A Memorial Mass will be Concelebrated with Father Phil Schoofs and Father Jim Feely at 11AM on April 15, 2023 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 105 N. Olk Street, Hortonville, WI 54944. Visitation from 9AM-11AM at the church prior to the Mass on April 15.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Pauline's memory for Saint Peter & Paul Liturgical Ministries.
