R Daniel Froding Military Honors
R. Daniel Froding, age 81, of Appleton, formerly of New London and Madison, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. Dan was born on October 6, 1943 in Milwaukee to mother, Aurora C. Froding of Valparaiso, Chile. Dan's early years were spent in foster care. In later years, Aurora married Harley Gill, who was the very best role model for Dan. He attended Madison East High School and following graduation he joined the US Army. Dan served in eight countries, but the most memorable was when he trained Koreans in Korea to fight for our cause. He worked for the State of Wisconsin in Public Television. Dan also owned a bike shop "The Centurian" on the square in Madison. On October 18, 2013, he married Faye A. (Piotter) Wohlrabe. They shared many happy memories traveling, biking, visiting lighthouses and volunteering. Dan and Faye always felt that God put them together and they inspired each other in their relationship with Jesus. Dan was a member of Faith Christian Church in New London. He was Junior Vice in the Stanley-Handrich American Legion Post 226 of Manawa.
Dan is survived by his wife, Faye; daughter, Danielle (Alexander III) Davis; granddaughter, Angela Froding (Rusty Allen); grandson, Alexander Davis IV; brother, Victor Ramirez; step-sons, Kevin (Tammy) Wohlrabe and Allen (Holly) Wohlrabe and step-grandchildren, Parker, River, Landon, Ember and Lachlyn Wohlrabe and many other relatives and friends.
