Ramona M.
Golla-Kolosso
August 3, 1937 – February 13, 2023
Ramona Mae (Barden) Golla-Kolosso, age 85, of Manawa, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, following a recent cancer diagnosis. She was born on August 3, 1937, in Stevens Point, WI, to the late Wayne and Rowena (Bousier) Barden.
Mona graduated from Almond High School in 1955. The following year, Mona was united in marriage to Anthony Golla. They were married for nearly 43 years before he passed away in 1999. During that time, Anthony and Mona had four children, owned a grocery store, played in several country bands, and lived life to the fullest. Mona found love again and married Tom Kolosso in 2003. He also preceded her in death in 2012.
Mona lived a full and happy life. She loved a good party and was always ready for friends and family to visit. Mona's many parties included family gatherings over the holidays, deer hunting, and her annual 4th of July Party. Mona rarely sat idle; in fact, she didn't fully retire until she was 81. For many years, Mona worked and volunteered for the Manawa Nutrition Center. Mona was an active member of her community. She served as a board member of the Manawa Library, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Mona was also a dedicated volunteer in the Manawa School District, where she served as a crosswalk guard, and kindergarten aide, and sold tickets for the high school football games, duties she truly enjoyed. She shared her love of music with everyone she met. She spent many afternoons traveling with her karaoke machine to nursing homes to entertain residents and staff alike.
Ramona is survived by her children, Don (Janet) Golla, Eric (Megan) Golla, Brenda (Peter) Huhn, and Lisa (Daniel) Puskas; grandchildren, Rod (Aimee) Golla, Jeni Genskow (fiance Chad Schweitzer), Casey Golla, Madison Golla, Anthony Golla, Mandy (Valentyn) Potapenko, Eric (Hannah) Huhn, Christopher and Dylan Puskas; great-grandchildren, Grace and Maren Golla, Parker and Myles Genskow, Eli Potapenko, and great-grandbaby-to-be Huhn; her siblings Judie Fletcher, Anita Berry, step-brother Charles Holtz, and sister-in-law Roselyn Barden.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Arlyn, Kenny, and Wayne; sisters, Betty, Bonnie, Norma, Bev, and Charlotte; and many others close to her.
Ramona will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
