Ray Buelow passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Ray was born on July 9, 1953 to the late Irvin and Lillian Ruth (Gunderson) Buelow in Appleton, WI. He graduated from Shiocton High School in 1971. He worked for Miron Construction and Oscar Boldt as a millwright, and was a proud member of North Central States Carpenters Union. Ray served nearly 41 years in the union.

Raymond was a skilled and meticulous carpenter. He enjoyed remodeling his home, making sure everything was done to his satisfaction. He never seemed to run out of projects. Ray also owned and operated Raguns and The Dugout bars, and tended bar at the Black Otter. He built a bar in his home to serve guests, and everyone said his drinks were the best!

He attended monthly classmate luncheons and was especially close to Nathan Beyer and Mike Muskavitch.

Ray married Marge Spindler on December 12, 2012. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marge; children, Tami (Mike Ernst) Riehl, Tara (Aaron) Meloan, Tanya (Craig) Ver Voort, Dawn (Dan Gloede) VanAsten, Steve (Lisa) Spindler, Nicole (Mark) Fernstrum, Craig (Michelle) Spindler; siblings, Lucy Hauser, Paul Buelow; in-laws, Lee (Karen) Schmoll, Jim (Lynne) Schmoll; grandchildren, Mitchael (Kristen) Boelter, Mason Riehl, Myla Riehl, Lexi and Alayna Ver Voort, Rockston and Memphis Meloan, Taryn (Devin) Szpara, Tanner (Alli) Van Asten, KaLynn (Carl) Kallas, Konner Spindler, Olivia (Nick) and Montana Smith, Ashley (Taylor) Pahl, Abby Spindler, Austin (Rachel Cops) Spindler, Jacob and Ethan Fernstrum; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Clayton, Dean, Hadley, Holden, Jeremiah, Lillian, Lynlee, Miley, Ryland, and two more on the way.

Ray is further survived by aunts, Marian Buelow, Kathryn (Bob) Wick; uncles, John Gunderson, Leon (Donna) Gunderson.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Marge's parents, and brother-in-law, Steve Hauser.

The Memorial Service for Raymond will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chad Starfeldt officiating.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend thank you to the hospice nurses, especially Linda and D.J. Your compassionate care for Ray and emotional support for Marge was very much appreciated.
