Richard Furman Memorial Service with Military Honors
Richard "Dick" Frank Furman, age 74 of Little Wolf, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Washington Center in New London. Richard was born on March 31, 1951 in Oshkosh to the late Tisdale and Hazel (Vosburg) Furman. He married Joanne Kimball on July 31, 1971 in Neenah. Dick served his country in the Vietnam War in the 11th Armored Calvary. He was honored to have been chosen to be a part of the Return to Vietnam Honor Flight. He worked at Curwood in New London for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. Dick loved hunting and fishing and also enjoying time with his family at their cabin up north. He had a great sense of humor - you knew he loved you if he teased you! Above all Dick adored his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Daniel (Jennifer) Furman and Donald (Cindy) Furman; grandchildren, Chase Furman (Aliah), Noah Furman (special friend, Alyssa), Kasey Furman, Lilly Furman and siblings, Judy (Ron) Buser, Jean Furman, Linda (Chuck) Pavlak, Robert (Carmen) Furman, Randall (Cathy) Furman. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his infant brother, Chuck; brother, Ronnie (Alice) Furman, sister, Donna Berrens and her first husband, Kenneth Schrieber and her second husband, Howard Berens, along with his brother, Ted (Colleen) Furman.
The Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Dale Union Cemetery, Dale. Full Military Honors will be held at the funeral home following the funeral ceremony.
The family wishes to thank the Washington Center and ThedaCare At Home Hospice staff for making his last days comfortable and peaceful.
