Obituary

On December 8, 2017, The Lord saw Richard was tired and called him to his heavenly home.

Richard was born on March 11, 1940 to Robert J. Yde and Lulla (Hanson) Yde. He was born in Red Lake, Minnesota. He graduated from North St. Paul High School, Minnesota in 1958. Richard had a great love for horses. He rode, drove, broke, and raised many fine horses in his life time. In 1981 he moved to Wisconsin and went into the shoe repair business. He stayed in that trade for several years.

In 2009 he was entered into the Wisconsin Draft Horse Hall of Fame. He is a Life Time Member of the Percheron Horse Association. Richard also belongs to the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving partner and his best friend, Mary Jean. Richard and Mary Jean have shared their life together for 59 years. They have two sons: Michael (Linda) of River Falls WI. and John (Jane) of New London WI. Grandchildren: Rebecca Yde Donnay (Chad), Daniel Yde (Nicole) of New London. Step Granddaughter: Samantha Keyes of New Richmond, WI. Step Great Grandchildren: Sabrina, Sierra, and Mason Keyes. Sister: Marcella Crear of St. Paul Minnesota. Brothers: Floyd (Brenda) of North Carolina and Robert (Barbara) of North Carolina. Sister-in-law: Janet Yde of Harris, MN.  He is further survived by numerous cousins, family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A Funeral Mass for Richard will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Rev. John Kleinschmidt officiating.  Family and friends are invited to visit directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Township of Lebanon.

Richard's family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care given to Richard.
