Robert Ronald Most, age 79, passed away on July 1, 2024. Born in Chicago Heights and raised in Crete, Illinois, Robert moved to a dairy farm in New London in 1982. He proudly served his country as a Marine in Vietnam and later dedicated 25 years of service on the Larsen Cooperative Board.

Robert had a deep love for the countryside, often taking drives to enjoy its beauty and spending cherished moments having coffee with friends. His life was marked by community involvement and a commitment to family and friends.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Muriel Most; and their children, Deborah, Derrick and his wife Michelle, and Darrin and his wife Lottie. He was a proud grandfather to Conrad, Arthur, and Colette. Robert is also survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Reils and her husband Richard; along with sisters-in-law, Rhoda Kosanke, Kathryn Smith, and Dorothy Rusch; and brother-in-law Richard Reese.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Verna Most; sister-in-law, Eunice Reese; brothers-in-law, Pastor Frederick Kosanke; Sydney Smith, and Leonard Rusch.

As an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bear Creek, Robert's faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him strength and guidance. Robert Ronald Most will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, love for the land, and dedication to family and community will be remembered and cherished.

The Funeral Service for Robert including Full Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Bear Creek, with Rev. Aric Fenske officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Crete, Illinois at a later date.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at St. Joseph's Residence and the staff at ThedaCare Hospital in New London for the care and compassion given to Robert.
