Robert's Funeral Service Video
Robert W. Timmers, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Bellevue, TN. Bob was born in Appleton on March 8, 1941, son of the late Robert H. and Anne (Triatik) Timmers. He, along with his grandfather, William Timmers, his father Robert H. Timmers, and brother Terry Timmers, started The Bargain Bulletin publication in May 1964. Bob worked with his siblings in the family business: Terry Timmers, Mike Timmers, Peggy Bissing and Valerie Hackel. He was an accomplished entreprenuer, writer and had several printing businesses.
Bob's passion was music. The birth of rock 'n roll was on the horizon just as he was becoming a young man in the late 1950s. He was smitten with the Fender Stratocaster guitar sounds of Johnny Meeks and Cliff Gallup. He was a lifelong Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps fan. In later years he became friends and performed in this band, wearing their blue cap and fulfilling a lifelong dream. He started on bass guitar and quickly became a gifted lead guitar player. Bob played in many popular local bands and loved all kinds of music. He particularly loved rockabilly music. He created and curated a comprehensive rockabilly tribute website where he honored famous and lesser-known musicians. Bob inspired and encouraged all of his children to play guitar.
Like his grandfather and father, Bob was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed annual trips to Wrigley Field. It was customary for family to participate in the tradition over the years. Bob also enjoyed many fishing excursions with family and friends.
Bob was a man of prayer, and believed in it's power. He had a strong faith in Jesus. He enjoyed celebrating mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. At Christmas Bob would give decorative angels to the ladies in his family. He told them they all were his angels. Sunday afternoon after church he, along with his family, would visit his grandma Harriet (Bill) Timmers. He looked after her and he enjoyed her company.
Bob is survived by his close friend, Dianne Duran; children: Scott Timmers, Becky (Tim) Rink, Steve Timmers, Ric (Katharine) Timmers; grandchildren: Arianne (Joe) Reinke, Benjamin (Michelle) Timmers, Cody Timmers (special friend Cassee), Ryan (Briana) Rink, and Marisa Timmers; his siblings: Terry Timmers, Vicky Johnson, Valerie (George) Hackel, Peggy (Joe) Bissing, and Mike (Gale) Timmers; mother of his children, Judi (Denny) Noie. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Todd (Terry) Timmers.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton on Wednesday, March 30, 2022; at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Appleton.
