Obituary

After a life filled with love and joy, our beloved faithful companion Rocky peacefully left us on Tuesday, 01/14/25. Rocky was born 10/17/11 and (after first locking eyes with his adopted dad to be) was adopted 2 months later by Julie and Randy Nelson.

Rocky brought us such joy and showered us with unconditional love and acceptance and in turn we loved and cared for him. Rocky always greeted us upon returning home, even if we were only gone for a couple hours, as if he hadn’t seen us in years (even in his final days)!

Rocky’s adopted mom and dad loved him deeply, but dad was his most reliable caretaker, had his best interests at heart and they spent so much time together. Rocky pretty much had his adopted dad wrapped right around his little paw.

Rocky loved people, but not other dogs. He loved stuffed animals, which included tearing some apart (he could never get enough new ones). He really enjoyed having us chase him around the house, our socks (if they had been worn), walks, playing tug of war, going for car rides with the wind blowing in his face and being scratched. Rocky was also a voracious eater, until his final days, and was always begging for food & snacks.

While we were still working, Rocky had the run of the house. Although Rocky’s favorite place was home, he did enjoy going with us if we were going to be gone for an extended period of time. He was always alert and ready to go, whenever we told him we were going “bye, bye”.

Now Rocky is fully healed and healthy, just waiting for us to join him in heaven. He will be forever missed and forever remembered. So many tears have been shed. Rocky truly left his mark on our souls, and all we ask is that you give your own beloved dogs extra love in honor of Rocky.

We would also like to send a huge thank you to Walker Family Veterinary Clinic, New London for their compassionate, caring staff who assisted us in Rocky’s final days.
