Rolf Karl Hintzke, age 79 of New London passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at ThedaCare Neenah after a long battle with cancer. Rolf was born on April 30, 1946 in Weinheim, Germany to the late Francis and Irmgard (Dein) Hintzke. He loved reading, smoking cigars and watching football. Rolf was known as a good storyteller and enjoyed having an occasional beer or two. He worked for Kirby Vacuums for 17 years. He went on to work as an announcer at WLIH in New London and eventually worked at Hillshire until his retirement. Rolf was a lector at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where he was a lifelong member.
Rolf is survived by his children, Rolf Jr. (Autumn) Hintzke and Rachel Suprise (significant other, Kent Breiting); grandchildren, Kortney Wegner, Breanna Heller, Austin (Emma) Suprise, Jake Hintzke, Alex Hintzke, Parker Hintzke and Nick Breiting; great-grandchildren, Tru, Stella and Ava and a special friend, Rick Koch, who was more like a brother.
In addition to his parents, Rolf was preceded in death by his brothers, Horst Dein, Theodore Hintzke and John Hintzke; granddaughter, Audrey Beth and step-grandson, Ben Breiting.
A Celebration of Rolf's Life will be held at Cruz Inn in New London on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
A Memorial fund has been established.
